Doctor Angie's Story
Dr. Angie Monthei-Meylor grew up in Iowa and received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Simpson College in Indianola. While growing up, Dr. Angie was involved in showing horses, and suffered a few acute equestrian injuries. When she began getting headaches everyday around the age of 13 that even the strongest, most expensive medications wouldn’t touch, her mom, took her to their family chiropractor. After a couple of adjustments her headaches were gone and she was living a happier life headache free.
She continued to show horses and was on a path to veterinary medicine. After applying to veterinary college she was showing her horse at an open show in Des Moines. Upon entering her class, she was dismissed because her horse was lame (limping). Close to tears and concern for her horse, her mom called on the horse chiropractor and acupuncturist. Twenty minutes later her horse was not limping and she went into her next class and received 5th place! This was a turning point in Dr. Angie’s life when she chose the road to chiropractic.
Dr. Angie Monthei-Meylor graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX. Dr. Angie has also completed over half of the pediatric diploma through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and is Webster Technique Certified.
After graduating from Chiropractic College, Dr. Angie continued to gain life changing experiences. She spent time in the Dominican Republic on a chiropractic mission trip, where together with a team of chiropractors, delivered chiropractic care (at no cost), to thousands of people even in the most remote villages. She then Moved to New York City where she worked under one of the most highly regarded doctors in New York, and learned first hand the most innovative spinal techniques.
After all of Dr. Angie’s wonderful life experiences, there is no place like home. She is excited to be close to her family and friends again. In Dr. Angie's free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Rex and their 2 girls, Lucy and Dorothy.
Dr. Angie Monthei-Meylor is very compassionate about her work, and is driven by her passion to help others.
